What Metrics Should We Track in BuildWitt Improve?

Tracking a few key metrics consistently can help Improve admins understand learner engagement, identify where engagement is slipping, and measure progress over time.

1. Streaks

What to Look For?
Streaks are a strong indicator of consistent learner engagement. A growing streak shows that a learner is regularly completing lessons over time. Go to Content Manager > Learner Progress. The Streak column can be sorted to quickly identify learners with strong engagement or those whose streaks may be declining.
  • Learners consistently maintaining or building their streak
  • Learners with short or declining streaks who may need additional encouragement
  • Changes in streak activity over time

2. Total Utilization

Total utilization provides an account-level view of how consistently your team is engaging with Improve. Review the Month-End Report for your account's utilization. A healthy target is 90% or higher. The most useful way to measure this is by comparing utilization month-over-month to identify trends.

 

3. Average Streak

Average streak provides a broader view of how consistently your team is engaging with Improve. Review the Month-End Report. Look for the average streak to increase month-over-month. A flat or declining average may indicate that overall learner consistency is slipping.

 

4. Lesson Completions Over Time

What to Look For?

Lesson completions help you understand how much learning activity is taking place across your team during a specific period.

 

 Go to Content Manager > Team Progress and select a custom date range, such as the current or previous month. 


Review the Users with Lesson Completions metric.

This view provides additional context beyond the number of completions, including:

  • Users who completed lessons during the selected period
  • Their streak
  • Total watch time during the selected period
 Compare activity across time periods to identify changes in engagement and make sure learners are consistently participating.

 

Recommended Review Cadence

Admins should review these metrics at least once per week.

A weekly review makes it easier to identify learners whose engagement may be slipping and follow up before a short-term drop becomes a longer-term trend.

Recommended Weekly Check

  • Streaks: Are learners consistently maintaining their streaks?
  • Utilization: Is overall engagement remaining strong?
  • Average streak: Is team-wide consistency increasing over time?
  • Lesson completions: Are learners actively completing lessons during the selected period?
