      How to disable the firewall on your browser

      This article is going to teach you how to disable the firewall on your browser to allow BuildWitt Training to work

      Steps on how to disable the firewall on your browser

      Google Chrome:

      Change settings for all sites:

      1. On your computer, open Chrome.
      2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
      3. Click Privacy and security and then Site Settings.
      4. Select the setting you want to update.

      To change permissions and data storage on all sites you’ve visited, you can also select View permissions and data stored across sites. 

      Change settings for a specific site:

      You can allow or block permissions for a specific site. The site will use its settings instead of the default settings. You can also clear data for a site.

      1. On your computer, open Chrome.
      2. Go to a website.
      3. To the left of the web address, click the icon you want: 
        • Lock Lock
        • Info View site information
        • Dangerous Dangerous
      4. Click Site settings.
      5. Change a permission setting. 

      Tips:

      • Your changes save automatically.
      • After you click the icon next to the web address, previously saved site settings appear. You can change them without going to the “Site settings” menu in Chrome.
      • If the Reset permissions button is available, you can click the button to reset your changed preferences.

      Mozilla Firefox:

      1.) Turn off Windows Firewall. Windows Firewall can be found in the Security Center.

      2.) Click on the Exceptions tab. Mozilla Firefox (or Firefox) is available for download.

      3.) You can find this program (exe) in the list of programs by going to File > Programs. The Mozilla Firefox menu will appear. Click the Delete button if it does not appear.

      Microsoft Edge:

      1. Select Start  , then open Settings  . Under Privacy & security  , select Windows Security  > Firewall & network protection. Open Windows Security settings

      2. Select a network profile: Domain network, Private network, or Public network.

      3. Under Microsoft Defender Firewall, switch the setting to On. If your device is connected to a network, network policy settings might prevent you from completing these steps. For more info, contact your administrator.

      4. To turn it off, switch the setting to Off. Turning off Microsoft Defender Firewall could make your device (and network, if you have one) more vulnerable to unauthorized access. If there's an app you need to use that's being blocked, you can allow it through the firewall, instead of turning the firewall off.

      Safari:

      Change Firewall preferences on Mac

      Use the Firewall pane of Security & Privacy preferences to turn on the firewall in macOS to prevent unwanted connections from the internet or other networks. Learn how to block connections to your Mac with a firewall.

      To change these preferences on your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy , then click Firewall.

      Note: If the lock at the bottom left of the pane is locked , click it to unlock the preference pane.

      Basic internet services are a set of apps that allow your Mac to find services provided by other computers on the network. This setting prevents connections to all other sharing services.

      Add 

      Add an app or service to allow incoming connections.

      Remove 

      Remove an app or service from allowing incoming connections.

      Automatically allow built-in software to receive incoming connections

      Allow built-in apps and services that are signed by a valid certificate authority to be automatically added to the list of allowed apps, without your authorization.

      Automatically allow downloaded signed software to receive incoming connections

      Allow downloaded apps and services that are signed by a valid certificate authority to be automatically added to the list of allowed apps, without your authorization.

      Enable stealth mode

      Prevent your Mac from responding to probing requests that can be used to reveal its existence. The Mac still answers requests from authorized apps, but unauthorized requests such as ICMP (ping) get no response.

      Advanced

      Increase the security on your Mac by automatically logging out after a period of inactivity and limiting access to system-wide preferences.
